Nippon Honor Award

The 15th NIPPON CONNECTION Film Festival will see the premiere of the NIPPON HONOR AWARD. The award, sponsored by Lufthansa, goes to Tadanobu ASANO, Japan’s number one star actor. The award ceremony will take place during the opening of the festival at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm on 2 June 2015. At the festival, the awardee can be seen starring in the opening film MY MAN by Kazuyoshi KUMAKIRI, in the horror-science fiction thriller PARASYTE by Takashi YAMAZAKI, in KAZA-HANA by Shinji SOMAI, and in Takeshi KITANO’s ZATOICHI.

 

Tadanobu ASANO tête-à-tête avec STEREO TOTAL

A special event awaits you at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm on 3 June 2015 at 10:30 p.m. Tadanobu ASANO and French-German band STEREO TOTAL will perform a live soundtrack concert.

About the awardee:

Tadanobu ASANO, born in 1973, played his first role on TV at the age of sixteen. The charismatic actor has already worked with many renowned directors like Hirokazu KOREEDA, Nagisa OSHIMA, Takashi MIIKE, and Wong Kar-Wai. In 1997, he received the Japan Academy Prize for Most Popular Actor. Tadanobu ASANO regularly works outside of Japan and has appeared in such films as MONGOL by Sergei Bodrov, THOR by Kenneth Branagh, and 47 RONIN by Carl Rinsch. He is currently working with Martin Scorsese. He is also known as a musician, artist, and model.
