A poor woodcutter stumbles upon a baby girl in a bamboo forest. He takes her home with him and raises the child as his own daughter. While the woodcutter makes a fortune, the little girl grows into a beautiful woman, and soon many noblemen propose to her. Based on a Japanese folktale, the story of Princess Kaguya is translated into a visually stunning masterpiece by animation maestro Isao TAKAHATA.
