Hikaru SUZUKI uses his camera not only to record the things around him, but also as a tool for reflection. Like words in a language, he arranges images in relation to one another to give them a new meaning that might not be apparent at first sight. Not least because he was born in Fukushima, the disaster of 2011 has become a leitmotif that runs through many of his works.

Director Bio
Hikaru SUZUKI was born in Fukushima in 1984. He studied video art, narrative film and media studies in Japan and Germany. Since 2011 he is based in Berlin. His works were exhibited around the world and screened at multiple festivals, among them the prestigious Yamagata International Documentary Festival.
