For the third time already, NIPPON CONNECTION welcomes renowned cinema narrator (benshi) Ichiro KATAOKA. With his unique performance, he will bring to life two classical Japanese silent films from an era when cinema narrators were as important to a film screening as the films themselves. Musical accompaniment by Günter A. Buchwald (www.stummfilmmusiker.de).

Two men, old childhood friends, confront each other as police officer and suspect: a classical film noir constellation. The only one of Tomu UCHIDA's films to be completely preserved, "The Police Officer" is a gem of cinema history, with expressionist images and a legendary car chase to remember.
